Traffic and opacity those things

First, let's look at a picture:

The middle is hundred percent opacity and hundred percent of flow, the left is the flow unchanged, the opacity halved, the right is the opacity unchanged, half the flow.

Brush parameters: Spacing is the minimum spacing.

So, you'll find in the picture above: the opacity is constant and the flow is halved, and the total opacity and hundred percent of the flow effect is exactly the same.

Looking at a picture again, I changed the brush spacing parameter to 60:

At this time, you will find that the opacity and the flow of half in this case, there is a phenomenon of color superposition.

We continue to change the brush parameters to 120

This time you will find that the left and right sides have become the same, are compared to the middle color lighter.

So according to the above three graphs, we can draw a conclusion: in a single operation, the flow can be superimposed, and the opacity is not possible.

What do you mean? That is, if you set the flow to 100%, opacity is 50%, when you hold down the mouse, no matter how you paint in the same place, its opacity is always only 50%, the color will never become 100% that way.

But you set the opacity to 100%, traffic set to 50%, you hold down the mouse, in the same place more than a few times (why not two times it?), it will become 100% traffic time situation.

At this point, we look at the top three images:

The first picture because the brush spacing is set to the minimum, so in the case of 50% flow, we even only painted once, but also equivalent to do a lot of stacking, so with 100% traffic situation.

In the second picture, because the brush spacing is 60, so there is only part of the overlay, so some of the color obviously deepened.

In the third picture, because the brush spacing is 120, there is no superimposed part, so all colors are 50%.

In the three picture, the opacity is completely unaffected by the superposition part.

Conclusion:

Opacity: From the time you press the mouse to release the mouse, no matter how you apply it, you will always draw the opacity value you set.

Flow: From the time you press the mouse to release the mouse, as long as you continue to smear, even 1% of the flow can be wiped out 100% flow effect.

In short: In a single operation, the flow has a superposition property, and the opacity is not.

So: What if the opacity and flow are 50%? Although the flow can be superimposed, but the opacity it has control of your flow can be superimposed limit, so: no matter how you apply, the highest value you superimposed is the value of the opacity you set: 50%.

If you still feel the abstraction above, it's clear what you're doing.

What do they do? When you draw with a digital board, you know it.
