Ubuntu 14.10 PPA Way to install Android Studio

1. First install Oracle JAVA8

First add the PPA, otherwise the direct installation of Android Studio will install OPENJDK.

$ sudo add-apt-repository Ppa:webupd8team/java

Then update the system

$ sudo apt-get update

Finally start the installation

$ sudo apt-get install Oracle-java8-installer

$ java-version

[Email protected]:/etc$ java-versionjava Version "1.8.0_31" Java (TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_31-b13) Java Hots Pot (TM) 64-bit Server VM (build 25.31-b07, Mixed mode)

If you need to switch between version and JAVA7, consider the following command

sudo update-java-alternatives-s java-8-oracle

2. Install Android Studio

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:paolorotolo/android-studiosudo apt-get updatesudo apt-get Install Android-studio

At this point, it can be used.
