First install the System monitoring tool System monitor Indicator:

Sudo dpkg-I indicator-sysmonitor_0.3.9 ~ Oneiric0_all.deb

This software can also be run directly at this time, but by default, only the memory and CPU usage can be displayed. to display the uplink/downlink network speed, perform the following operations:

Sudo apt-get install dstat

Mkdir ~ /. Indicator-Sysmonitor-Scripts

Cd ~ /. Indicator-Sysmonitor-Scripts

Download the sysmon script and put it in the above folder.

Tar xf sysmon_0.2.tar.gz

Start indicator-sysmonitor and set System monitor Indicator. After running, click the top status bar and select the Preferences option in the pop-up menu.
