Ubuntu Install and start Redis

1. Install Redis in Ubuntu system

$sudo apt-get Update
$sudo apt-get install Redis-server

2, Start Redis

$ redis-server


3. See if Redis is started

$ redis-cli
redis 127.0.0.1:6379> Ping
PONG

If the Redis is installed with apt-get or yum install, you can stop/start/reboot directly with the command below Redis

/etc/init.d/redis-server Stop
/etc/init.d/redis-server start
/etc/init.d/redis-server restart

If the Redis is installed through the source code, it can be restarted via the shutdown command of the Redis client program Redis-cli Redis

Redis-cli-h 127.0.0.1-p 6379 shutdown
