After the previous article solved the normal display of the Ubuntu Unity desktop style, let's talk about how to switch to the previous classic Gnome Desktop style.
The default desktop style installed in Ubuntu14.04 is Unity, but Gnome Desktop style is not installed. Therefore, many old users are not used to using Unity style, in fact, I felt a little unaccustomed at the beginning! But it still feels good! At least I think from the perspective of the effect, this will be the trend of the desktop style!
Now, let's start with the topic!
After the system is properly installed, start the system until you log on to the page, as shown in the following figure: (Note the Red Circle in the figure)
Now we log in first. Because the Gnome Desktop style is not installed for us during system installation, We need to install it by ourselves. "Ctl + Alt + T" opens the terminal, then enter the command in it: (of course, other commands can also be installed)
Sudo apt-get install gnome-session-fallback
Then press Enter, Enter the password, and then press Enter.
After the installation is successful, restart the system until the user logs on to the interface, as shown in the following figure: (pay attention to the Red Circle in the figure. Is it different from the above !)
An Ununtu Linux flag is added, and you can click it. The following page is displayed:
Well, if the content shown in the figure above is displayed, it means that your Gnome Desktop style has been successfully installed and can be used. Here are three options, the third is the default Unity desktop style. The above two are the classic Gnome Desktop style. We can choose either of them and log on to the system to see the classic Gnome Desktop style, as shown below:
Is it the Gnome Desktop style we are familiar with before! Haha!
Here I will talk about my thoughts on the Unity desktop style!
When I searched the internet, I found that many people are biased against Unity. Maybe it has its own shortcomings. After all, it is a new thing, so it will take some time to wait until it is perfect, but as I said just now, it is a new thing. If it is not mentioned before, it can be seen from the desktop usage effect, very nice. At least it looks cool and clean. I also think this unique effect will be the usage trend of Ubuntu and other systems in the future!
We should learn to accept new things. Even if we have opinions on them, we should not reject them! Unless you admit that you are too old to accept new things! Haha!
