I just helped the company downstairs solve a problem.
The original office computer is pre-installed with Linux, and they are re-installed with win7. the new computer is pre-installed with Win8, which causes installation problems.
UEFI problems.
Boot option in Bois
The startup mode is UEFI, and the gray mode cannot be modified.
Security boot control is changed from enable to disable, and then the boot mode can be changed to legacy.
Differences
UEFI is a new bios and legacy is a traditional BIOS.
Systems installed in UEFI mode can only be guided in UEFI mode;
Systems installed in legacy mode can only be entered in legacy mode.
UEFI only supports 64-bit systems and the disk partition must be in GPT mode. The traditional BIOS uses int13 to interrupt disk reading, and can only read 64 kB at a time.
UEFI can read 1 MB each time, and the loading speed is faster. UEFI is used on machines installed with Win8, which further optimizes UEFI support.
Similar modifications have been made to servers not installed before.
Eight hard drive servers have 2.4 TB after raid 10. If the number exceeds 2, the server must use the GTPs mode.
Solution: During raid, allocate GB to a virtual disk, and divide all the remaining disks into one disk (more than 2 TB) in GPT mode.
