Yesterday's work room of the computer poisoning (specific reasons do not know), and then help reinstall the system, sister original is preinstalled Win7 64-bit notebook, motherboard support UEFI boot, and the hard drive is solid-state drive 500G, I started with UltraISO burning image, to the installation of the selection, appeared " Windows cannot be installed in the selection, the selection is GPT Partition ", during the various Baidu, now think is, I use the way only suitable for MBR partitioning, and finally refer to the following content to complete the system reinstall.

/*------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --Reference--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------*/

The following is the entire process of booting the installation Windows8 in a UEFI way on a Lenovo Y480 notebook, and the installation Windows7 process is essentially the same. Note that if your computer hard disk is an MBR partition structure , all data on the hard disk will be deleted during the installation, please back up all personal files on the hard disk before installing.

prepare a USB flash drive with a capacity of not less than 4G, formatted as FAT32. Then copy all the files from the 64-bit WIN8 image to the USB stick root directory. Note: If you are installing a 64-bit Win7, you also need to download the Bootx64.efi file (click to download), and then on the USB flash drive, under the EFI folder, create a new folder named Boot, put the Bootx64.efi file inside. Pre-installed win8/8.1 PC installation Win7 also need to change several BIOS settings , related preparations refer to the UEFI+GPT Boot prep: Switch to UEFI boot, prepare for installation media, or refer to the full tutorial "preinstalled 64-bit win8/ 8.1 PC Installation 64-bit Win7 detailed process (single/dual system).

Restart the computer, when the Lenovo logo appears, press F2 to open the BIOS setup interface, switch to the "boot" setting interface to set the UEFI boot setting to "enable", so that Uefi is turned on. Press the F10 key to save the settings.

Restart, press the F12 key when the Lenovo logo appears, the Boot Device selection screen appears, we can see there are two USB devices. The selected name in the diagram shows the word "EFI" in front of it, which means that the device is a device that can be EFI-booted. We need to choose this one.

When you select an option in the diagram, the computer starts loading the Windows Preinstallation Environment files. (Note: Small series of actual operation is installed 64-bit Win7, but the picture of the phone is not clear, so in the virtual machine in UEFI mode installed 64-bit Win8, no difference)

Wait for the following interface to appear, by default.

: Click Next

: Click "Install Now"

: Select "Custom" here to enter the partition selection screen. If your computer's hard disk is already a GPT partition structure, select the target partition directly, format it, and then select the point next . The following is the case of the hard disk bit MBR partition structure:

: If your computer's hard disk is an MBR partition structure, you will see a "Unable to install Windows on drive x partition X" Prompt, this time you need to click on "Drive Options (Advanced)", and then delete all the partitions on the hard disk so that the entire hard disk becomes an unallocated space. Tip: In this step you can also press SHIFT+F10 or SHIFT+FN+F10 to bring up the command Prompt window, and then use the DiskPart tool to convert the hard disk to a GPT partition.

: The entire hard drive has become a piece of unallocated space. Click "New", enter the amount of space you want to allocate for the system installation partition (recommended not less than 50G), click "Apply".

: The prompt will create additional partitions and click "OK". The Setup program will then automatically convert the hard disk to a GPT partition. Once created, you will see four created partitions, as shown in. The role of these partitions is described in the section on GPT disks for booting Windows (preinstalled Win8 computers).

Select the first primary partition, and then click Next to start the installation. You can then complete the system installation by following the prompts.

Postscript

In fact, only motherboards that follow the UEFI specification can start Windows Setup according to the Efi/boot/bootx64.efi path, and most motherboards follow this specification. If you do not follow this specification, you will need to manually choose to start from the file, or you will need to start bootx64.efi as a command in the UEFI shell. There will be an article on these later. In addition, there is a special tutorial on pre-installed WIN8 computer retrofit Win7 or installing win8+win7 dual system.
