Hyper-V server is installed in Server 3 in Figure 1-1 and runs multiple virtual machines in Hyper-V server, one of which is the same as the firewall and proxy server in the current network for Forefront TMG 2010. Server 3 has two NICs configured to "NIC teaming" that is, two network adapters are bundled into one network card, and the two NICs are connected to the trunk port of the physical switch. The other 2 servers are connected to the switch's access port, and the current server segment is assigned an IP address of 172.18.96.0/24, which belongs to VLAN 2006.

1 Upgrading a domain controller

Because there is only one domain controller in the current network, you can log on directly to the domain controller, upgrade the domain server before upgrading the forest schema, update the domain information, and then upgrade the member servers. The main steps are as follows.

    • Adprep tool updates that run Windows Server 2016

    • Upgrade the installation of Windows Server 2016.

    • Upgrade the other member servers in your network to Windows Server 2016.

    • Raising the domain functional level to Windows Server 2016

The main steps and procedures (installed in the Windows Server R2 graphical interface) are described below.

(1) The current Active Directory domain controller is shown in Windows Server r2,1-2.

(2) To prepare the Windows Server 2016 installation CD, if it is a disc image, use the virtual optical drive to load and copy the contents of the disc to a folder on your local hard drive, for example, this example copies all the Windows Server 2016 installation disc files to D:\os-ins\ Ws16 folder. Then go to the Command Prompt window, from the installation CD's Support\adprep folder, execute Adprep/forestprep, first upgrade the forest schema (shown in 1-3), and then execute adprep/ DomainPrep Update the whole domain information (1-4).
