Preface

At around this morning (20091120), I listened to the Chrome conference in the United States with friends from the QQ group (75448027). After some experiments, finally, ChromeOS is successfully run in the Virtual Machine of your PC. This article aims to help all friends who are interested in ChromeOS to experience ChromeOS in a more interesting way.

Environment/preparation

Q &
  • Q: Can Chrome be installed in a normal PC?
    A: No. Currently, Chrome only supports five hardware models [2]:
    * Acer Aspire One AOD250-1165 10.1-Inch Blue Netbook
    * ASUS Eee PC 1008HA Seashell 10.1-Inch Pearl Black Netbook
    * HP Mini 5101
    * Lenovo Ideapad S10-1311UW 10.2-Inch White Netbook
    * Dell Mini 10 V
  • Q: How to compile ChromeOS by yourself?
    A: Reference: http://www.chromium.org/chromium-os/building-chromium-os
  • Q: ChromeOS cannot install software and can only access the internet. Is it worse than Windows or Linux?
    A: The vast majority of future applications should be Internet-based or cloud computing-based. If this assumption is true, Google Chrome OS has far-reaching significance.
    Because the application is rendered through a browser, the browser must be based on the operating system. ChromeOS provides us with a fast, easy-to-use and secure operating system, and a browser that is equally fast, easy-to-use, and secure. This is of a cross-era significance for future applications.
    Google is doing well. I remember that when ChomeBrowser was released, the Chrome team gave me an impression:"I do not care if there is one fewer cool feature, I just want this product to be ROCK SOLID."To achieve the ultimate in basic functions and basic requirements, this is the" path "of ChromeBrowser and ChromeOS products ".
    We certainly cannot compare ChomeOS with the existing mainstream operating systems, but we should focus on 3-5 years, or even longer.
