Because it is cumbersome and limited to install Oracle on a Mac, you always want to install the database on the virtual machine and then access it through the client. Last night oracle11g installed in the virtual machine Vmvare fusion5 XP, in this week will be the basis of the review, I would rather stay up and sleep less.
It's easy to believe that Oracle is installed on Windows XP, and there's a lot of tutorials on the web. It is important to note that:
- Run as Administrator Setup.exe
- If you are using DHCP assigned IP, then you need to set the Windows Loopback adapter as the primary network adapter of the system before installation, and assign a fixed IP to it, the setup steps will be below
- When installing to the last database setup, the Enterprise Manager configuration fails and needs to be manually run EMCA reconfiguration
I have only encountered these three problems during the installation process, it is possible that XP is a little less than the Win7 requirements, the road is relatively smooth.
