Paging in resources
In 3G, the concept of location zone and route zone is exactly the same as that in GSM and GPRS. MSC is responsible for the management of location zone and sgsn is responsible for the management of Route zone, both indicate the current location of the mobile station in the current system. The Location Area and the routing area are divided manually. They may be a combination of multiple residential areas and are identified by certain identifiers. The Location Area La (Location Area) identifier is Lai, the identifier of the routing area is Rai, and Ra is included in LA. Lai is composed of MCC, MNC, and LAC, while Rai is composed of MCC, MNC, LAC, and Rac. Therefore, RA should be less than or equal to LA. At the beginning of the network, the RA and La areas should be equal. When a mobile station performs a voice call, a location update will occur when it moves across the location area. When it calls data, a route area update process will occur when it moves across the routing area. During system paging, the paging process occurs in the Location Area or routing area. Cell is the smallest unit that the mobile station can identify in the system. The cell can be a sector or not. Service Area (Serivce
Area) is the largest area that the mobile station can provide for businesses. The UMTS registration area (URA) concept only appears in the mobility status management, and has nothing to do with LA and RA. In UMTS, when a mobile device enters the sleep state, it selects a URA or within a cell and enters the URA-PCH state for sleep, depending on the current state of mobility management. In fact, the communication process that the system cares about is the update process of La and RA.
UMTS's USIM card contains user-related information, including imsi, msisdn, key, service list, and temporary identifier (dynamic data.

Imsi:
The imsi (International Mobile subscriberidentification number) identifies different mobile users. It is stored in SIM cards and can be used to distinguish valid information of mobile users. The total length is no more than 15 characters ~ 9. Among them, MCC is the country code of the mobile user, which accounts for three digits. China's MCC stipulates that it is 460. MNC is a mobile network number, which consists of up to two digits, used to identify the mobile communication network to which a mobile user belongs;
Tmsi:
Temporary identifier (tmsi ----- temporary mobile subscriber identity)
The temporary identification code is set to prevent illegal individuals or groups from stealing the real customer identification code (imsi) of the customer or tracking the location of the mobile customer by listening to the signaling exchange on the wireless path.
Lai is composed of MCC, MNC, and LAC, while Rai is composed of MCC, MNC, LAC, and RAC.
IMEI
(International Mobile Equipment Identity) is the abbreviation of an international mobile device identity code. It is an "electronic serial number" consisting of 15 digits ", it corresponds to each mobile phone, and the code is the only one in the world. Each mobile phone is assigned a unique group of numbers in the world after it is assembled. This number will be recorded by the manufacturer who manufactures it from production to delivery.
