To facilitate the selection of text, VIM introduces Visual (visual) mode. to select a piece of text, first move the cursor to the beginning of the paragraph, press v in normal mode to enter the visual mode, and then move the cursor to the end of the paragraph. It is important to note that the character of the cursor is contained in the selection. You can do some work on the selected text, and the commonly used (visual mode) commands are:
X or D cut (that is, delete, and the selected text goes to the clipboard)
Y copy
R character replaces all characters with new characters
u u ~ are all letters lowercase, uppercase, reversed case

When the command is entered, VIM returns to normal mode, which can be pasted by P or p. commands for copying and pasting in normal mode:
V Enter visual mode
P or P pastes the contents of the Clipboard at the current position, p sticks to the character behind the cursor, p sticks to the front
Admittedly, although the introduction of visual mode, copying and pasting in VIM is still a cumbersome operation, which may be the only disadvantage of vim. :-) In addition, VIM introduces selection (select) mode, similar to the visual mode. Combined with some key definitions and option settings, you can implement the same copy and paste usage habits as Notepad. Confined to space and level, not mentioned here.
