Overall environment after installation:

HOST: WIN7 64x

Host VM version: VM 7.0.0 build-20373

VM7-Linux OS: Oracle Enterprise Linux 5.7

VM7-Linux OS-Tools: VM7.0-Tools

Linux VM version: VM 8.0.1.528992

VM8-Windos OS: Windows Server 2003

VM8-Windos OS-Tools: VM8.0-Tools

VM8: Official Site (registered) http://downloads.vmware.com/d/details/wkst_801_lx/dCVkYnRwdHBidGRoag==

Downloaded file: VMware-Workstation-Full-8.0.1-528992.i386.bundle

Registration machine: It seems useless. I found two available keys:

MF0KF-2Y183-HZXW9-409Q6-C325W

0A4NA-D00E4-LZJY1-UK9N6-1357G

Installation Process:

1. Prevent system errors after detecting that the host is a vmvm:

"You must have at least version 8.7.0 of VMware Tools installed to install this product inside a virtual machine. Your version is xxxx.

Please update VMware Tools ."

You must manually add the following configuration items to the configuration file:

Amonitor_control.restrict_backdoor = "TRUE"

Disable_acceleration = "TRUE"
Monitor_control.vt32 = "TRUE" # for INTEL CPU
Monitor_control.enable_svm = "TRUE" # for AMD CPU
2. mount the VM8 Installation File in Linux OS

3. Add executable permissions: chmod + x VMware-Workstation-Full-8.0.1-528992.i386.bundle

4. Install

5. mount the Windows Server 2003 virtual machine installed on the host in Linux OS. You can directly enable it under the host VM7.

Because VM Virtual machines are file-based, the virtual machine system itself can be transplanted in Windows and Linux

6. Before using VM8 in Linux to open a Windows virtual machine, you must configure the network of the Windows virtual machine to be set to the bridging mode.

To allow the host to access VM-Win, just like accessing VM-Linux, you can allocate different IP addresses in the same network segment of VM-Win and VM-Linux.

If the host allocates a network in DHCP mode, the VM automatically allocates an IP address in bridging mode, which is in the same network segment as the host.

7. After opening the virtual machine, find the IP address, enable the remote desktop access permission, and activate port 3389.

For security, you can also modify HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Terminal Server \ Wds \ rdpwd \ Tds \ tcp PortNumber in REG.

To modify the Remote Desktop port number.

8. If you use NAT, you need to set port ing in the linux virtual machine to map port 3389 of vm-windows to port 3389 of linux.

Port ing configuration file path/etc/vmware/vmnet8/nat. conf

Add row:

3389 vm-windows Virtual Machine IP Address: 3389

9. Use Remote Desktop to connect to VM-Win on the host. (Or use the VNC provided by the VM to set remote logon)
