Upgrade Readiness Check Wizard
The Upgrade readiness Check (Upgrade readiness Checker) is a new wizard in the USM (Unisphere Service Manager). You can export a TXT-formatted report by importing only the configuration file for the source device. If the storage system is not suitable for upgrades, detailed reasons and solutions are noted in the report.
· The Upgrade Readiness Check Wizard prepares for the following three types of upgrades
· Upgrade from low-end models to high-end models
· Upgrade from single data block storage (blocks only) to unified storage (Unified)
· VNX7500 memory upgrades from 24GB to 48GB
Please note: The Upgrade Readiness Checker Wizard does not support upgrading from Single file storage (file only) to unified storage (unified).

Upgrade Readiness Check Report
The Check wizard checks the storage system's version and hardware configuration to verify that it is appropriate for the upgrade. If this is not appropriate, the report will specify the reasons and solutions.
For example, VNX5100 block is ready for a dip upgrade that transforms the model into a more high-end vnx. The Check Wizard report shows that the flare version of the device VNX5100 is V5.31 does not yet support dip upgrades. It is recommended that V5.31 flare be upgraded to V5.32 first and then upgraded to a more high-end model.
