I have read an article titled "how to set the rendering mode of IE8 webbrowser control (mshtml"
Now ie9beta is out. Is there the same thing? Let's take a look at IE7 and IE8 settings.
IE8 standards mode8000 (0x1f40) -- IE8 standard mode, IE8 default mode
IE7 standards mode7000 (0x1b58) -- IE7 compatible view mode (compatible view), default webbrowser control mode of IE8
Obviously, 7 corresponds to 8000, and 8 corresponds to 9000, so I guess ie9 should be. This is indeed the case after experiments.
(In fact, ie9 will be used for rendering no matter what value is set)
So, how to test? There is a don't change figure with css3 words can be tested, http://knb.im/css3/
Record the Registry path:
[(HKEY_CURRENT_USER or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE)/software/Microsoft/Internet Explorer/main/featurecontrol/feature_browser_emulation]
"Myapplication.exe" = DWORD 8000 (HEX: 0x1f40)
