What is column store?

What is column store? Unlike traditional relational databases, column store stores data in tables by row. One of the important advantages of column store is that, the selection rules in the query are defined by columns, because the entire database is automatically indexed. Data Clustering storage for each field is stored by column. When querying a few fields, the data volume read can be greatly reduced, it is easier to design a better compression/decompression algorithm for such clustered storage.
