What is the difference between JavaScript and Java?

The JavaScript programming language is developed by Netscape,inc., which is not part of the Java platform. JavaScript does not create small applications or standalone applications. In the most common form, JavaScript resides in HTML documents, providing a variety of web page interactions that are not possible with simple HTML.

　　The main difference between Java and JavaScript:

  • Java is an OOP programming language, and Java script is an OOP scripting language.
  • Java creates an application that runs in a virtual machine or browser, and JavaScript code runs only in the browser.
  • Java code needs to be compiled, and JavaScript code is in the text.
  • They require a different plugin.
