You can log on to the system using either of the two and issue commands to the system.

(1) The port used is different.

SSH uses port 22, while Telnet uses port 23.

(2) Whether or not encrypted

SSH provides encryption, but telnet does not.

In addition to Telnet, SSH supports FTP, rcp, and rlogin.
