What is the key of xf86explorer?

To make the system satisfactory, key redefinition is essential. For example, for screen lock, the default value of gnome is CTRL + ALT + L, and Windows is win + L. Obviously, the latter is more concise. Currently, most keyboards have win keys, so they must be used.

However, when configuring the Ubuntu shortcut today, we found that the key corresponding to the "Main folder" is xf86explorer, so we were at a loss. Find some information and find that the key does not exist on the standard American 101 keyboard. Keys defined in the xfree 86 standard are deployed around the keyboard.

Redefine the keyboard

For non-standard keyboards, there may be some unnecessary keys. Can I use them with another definition?

For example, my current founder keyboard has a mute, an Internet connection, and a shutdown button. I have think advantage and access IBM keys on IBM and Lenovo laptops. Can I redefine them?

 

1. Find the keyboard Value

There is a small program Xev in Ubuntu, and a small window pops up after execution. The key value is printed on the console when you press the button for a small window.

2. Configure binding

Configure the Internet access key as xf86explorer

The binding is complete.

 

Because the default browsing shortcut for gnome is xf86www, press this key to open Firefox. If it does not take effect, You can reset this key in preference-> keyboard shortcut to take effect.
