What is the use of IE11 enterprise model?

The IE11 enterprise model is a browser compatibility mode that runs on Win8. and Win7 devices that allow a Web site to render content using a modified browser configuration that is designed to simulate IE8 to avoid common compatibility issues. Mainly for some of the more ancient sites, in the enterprise model before, we use compatible mode similar to, but the enterprise model is to render IE8 under the display effect.

It is simple to understand that the IE11 Enterprise model is equivalent to turning on the IE8 compatibility mode, because the latest IE browsers are prone to a variety of browser compatibility issues when browsing older Web sites or previous web technology sites, and their role is to enhance the compatibility of IE11 browsers.

IE11 Enterprise mode is turned off by default, but you can enable/disable enterprise mode through Group Policy settings, as described below.

The following author takes the newest Win8.1 system as an example, teaches everybody how to open the IE11 Enterprise mode.

1, first use the win + R combination shortcut keys, open the Run Command box, and then type Group Policy command: Gpedit.msc completed, click on the bottom of the confirmation, you can enter the computer Group Policy, as shown in the following picture:

2, you can then enter the computer Local Group Policy Editor, and then locate: Computer Configuration Management templates Windows Components Internet Explorer, and then on the right side of Internet Explorer, select Allow users to enable and use Enterprise Mode from the Tools menu Options, as shown in the following illustration:

3, and then double-click to open "Allow users to enable and use Enterprise Mode from the Tools menu", Configured to "Enabled", the application takes effect, as shown in the following figure.

4, the above configuration settings are completed, we need to restart the computer after the effective.

5, restart the computer, re-enter the system, we then open the IE11 browser, and then in the I11 menu bar "Tools" in the Enterprise mode, choose to open it, open IE11 Enterprise mode, the front of which has an enterprise icon, the following figure:

Note: The above methods are suitable for Win7 and Win8. 1 system, for the win8/Enterprise version is not supported by the above settings. Also opened the IE11 Enterprise mode, does not mean that you can be compatible with all Web pages, and sometimes may encounter browser unresponsive situation, preferably with the IE11 compatibility mode with the best.
