OpenStack 2013.2 (Havana) Release Notes
You can find descriptions of the main new features of the OpenStack Havana release, known issues, and upgrade recommendations.
OpenStack Object Store (Swift)Key new Features
Swift 1.8.0 introduces the concept of "zone", enhancing the use of standalone replication networks and support for near-read and write configurations. These features combine to provide a single swift cluster spanning a wide area.
- Add support for Profile CONF.D
Allows Swift daemons and services to optionally accept a directory as a configuration parameter. This allows different configuration files to be managed separately, for example, each middleware can use different files to set its own specific parameters.
Object Server throttling You can configure the thread pool to improve performance and eliminate the latency of the entire system. Also, many disk operations are reordered to increase reliability and improve performance.
- Increased support for memcache pooling connections
- Select Switch node for faster computation
important flaws in the fix
- Fixed bug where memcache entries were not in the same period
- Fixed a problem where the proxy server continued to read the storage server after the client connection was disconnected
- Fixed UTF-8 handling of version control write operations
Other operational Optimizations
- Set the default number of WSGI worker processes to Cpu_count
Modifies the default WSGI process value from 1 to auto. The new default value will derive a worker process equal to the number of CPU cores in the Proxy, container, account and object WSGI servers. This is not ideal for some configurations, but more like providing an out-of-the-box deployment.
- The Reveal_sensitive_prefix configuration option is added to filter the authentication tokens recorded in the proxy server log.
- Added support for copying the switching partition first when copying objects. You can now configure multiple remote nodes to communicate with the storage node before removing a local switch node.
- Added the Crossdomain.xml middleware. For more information, please refer to http://docs.openstack.org/developer/swift/crossdomain.html
- A number of improvements to Swift running under the PyPy
