Windows 7 may be Microsoft's most anticipated product. It inherits the advantages of Windows Vista and eliminates many disadvantages of the operating system. It also adds new features-all included in a software package, which no longer consumes as much resources as its predecessor.
You need to know how to maximize the functionality of Windows 7 in your environment, whether you upgrade from Vista or skip Vista. The following are 77 tips and tips.
1. Select your version-- Most enterprise users do not need more expensive Ultimate Edition; unless you need bitlocker in particular, continue to use professional.
2. Upgrade? To 64-bit-- As the second major Windows version that fully supports 64-bit, the x64 architecture has been explicitly used for desktop. Do not purchase new 32-bit hardware unless it is a netbook.
3. Use Windows XP-- Yes, it is just an embedded Virtual PC with a complete copy of WINXP-but it is an embedded Virtual PC with a complete copy of Windows XP! This is the first time we have ever seen completely smart use of desktop virtualization. It is also a good way to move Windows 7 to Windows 7 without giving up all Windows XP compatibility.
4. Use Windows powershell v2-- Not just a shell, This is the management tool you have always been looking forward to using: parallel and distributed management tasks! In fact, managing 100 computers is as easy as managing a computer with new remote processing functions. Windows powershell V2 is released in Windows 7 for the first time and will be used in an earlier version of Windows within six months.
5. Use applocker-- We have always been the owner of the Software Restriction policy since Windows XP, and applocker eventually makes the applicationProgramWhitelist becomes possible. Use it to enhance or even replace your anti-virus software and ensure that you only run the software you want.
6. Switch Resource Manager and commandprompt back and forth-- The classic Windows Power toy "Open command prompt here" (Open command prompt here) is now an indispensable part of Windows 7 Resource Manager. 9. Start to consider Windows Server 2008 r2-- Some of Windows 7's more striking features, such as branchcache, can be used in combination with the operating system of the new server. 15. Prepare for directaccess-- Directaccess enables users to remotely access their office-based resources without a VPN. Directaccess also enables remote computers to fully enable group policies-however, it requires Windows 7 and Windows 2008 R2.
16. Deploy the image service and management (dism)-- If you want to quickly list or manage windows packages, functions, or drivers, use the command line utility dism. The "image" in the name may make you mistakenly think that this is just a deployment tool. The online command line switch enables you to manage functions in the currently loaded operating system. For a list of Windows functions loaded, enter dism/online/get-features/format: Table. To enable a feature, enter dism/online/enable-feature/featurename: <Name>.
17. Including the troubleshooting package-- To help users troubleshoot and solve problems independently, you need to update your support process to approve these packages. For example, do not force the user to repeat the steps that the package has guided them, and consider developing your own package (in Windows powershell) to support internal systems.
18. Check Reliability-- The reliability monitor is introduced as a "reliability and performance monitor" in Windows Vista. In Windows 7, it is separated from the Performance Monitor and moved to a new location in the operation center. Open Operation Center in Control Panel, and search for the "view reliability history" Link under the "maintenance" option. All host names are displayed in the standard tree control that can be divided into folders. They can be sorted alphabetically, and different logon accounts and security passwords can be allocated to each connection.
31. Multiple monitors-- Windows 7 makes processing multiple monitors more intuitive and flexible. You can use various shortcuts and mouse actions to switch the window between various monitors. To make full use of these shortcuts and mouse actions, you need a lot of screen space. Please try a new qwxga monitor launched by Samsung (tinyurl.com/qwxgasam.pdf) or Dell (tinyurl.com/qwxgadell. 33. Drag and Drop the notification icon-- Only a few icons are displayed in the redesigned notification area. All other notification icons are moved to the side window. 34. Add shared folders without indexes to the library-- You can add a UNC path (for example, // servername/sharename) to the database, but the server must index the folder. 35. Simplify clone computer settings-- You cannot run sysinternals's newsid utility to change the identifier of a cloned Windows 7 computer (PC of a virtual computer or image. Instead, create a template for installation and run sysprep/oobe/generalize/reboot/shutdown/unattend: scriptfile. Clone or copy the Virtual Machine file.
