Windows 7 is only Windows Vista SP2?

To be honest, Vista is not a successful product. In recent months, Microsoft has been suggesting through various channels that Windows 7, the next version of Windows operating system, will fail to scan Vista and bring new surprises to everyone. Despite this, I began to suspect that Windows 7 should not be much different from Vista, but it is an upgraded version of Vista.

Microsoft is no longer hiding from the fact that it is trying to find a replacement for poor Vista. microsoft CEO Ballmer often said in the past that "Vista is a job in progress ". now, Microsoft has admitted that more than 2000 employees are working on Windows 7 development. it seems that Microsoft cares about Windows 7. in addition, Microsoft has launched a blog column on Windows 7, and began to tell people to reveal some information about Windows 7. more interestingly, in 20th day of this month, WSUS (Windows Software Update Services and Windows Software Update Services) users found a Windows 7 Client Option on their patch servers.

Many CIOs are in a dilemma about how to treat windows. Should they "Upgrade" to Vista? Or insist on using Windows XP SP3? Or, abandon windows and switch to Mac or Linux? However, I would like to point out that Microsoft is ready to launch Windows 7. microsoft knows that commercial users will not be migrated to Vista. therefore, if you decide to stick to the Windows platform, waiting for the release of Windows 7 seems like a smart choice.

But is that true? Paul thurrott, a famous windows expert, concluded in his answers to Windows 7 FAQ: "Microsoft's positioning for Windows 7 is" important product release ". however, from Microsoft's language used to describe the technical pillar of Windows 7, this product is actually a general product."

To what extent? Thurrott wrote: "Microsoft once publicly promised only one new feature of Windows 7, the so-called 'universal multi-touch (pervasive multi-touch )'. I don't know what a universal multi-point touch screen means, but it sounds like a massage center. frankly speaking, I think I have already experienced this technology on my Apple Touch iPod. on the iPod, it's amazing. but I still don't want to see how dirty my favorite display is with my fingers."

Thurrott also pointed out that it is still too early to talk about Windows 7, and it will certainly add many new features. i'm sure Microsoft will do the same. however, over time, more and more new messages about Windows 7 have been leaked, and I have become more certain that Windows 7 will not become a real major upgrade of Microsoft's operating system platform. on the contrary, it is only Vista SP2.

Who wants to continue using Vista or even Windows 7 that is considered Vista SP2? I certainly don't want to. Of course, Microsoft can choose to give up Vista and turn to the new operating system Midori, but I doubt whether Ballmer has the courage to stride forward in a new direction.
