The device and service giant has put consumers in a lot of trouble since Microsoft officially unveiled Windows 8.1 and the Windows RT 8.1 update on October 18. The first is the mouse lag in the game, and then some machines (and some older AMD processors) cannot install Windows 8.1. A number of users in Microsoft's official support forum said they had downloaded Windows 8.1 updates from the Microsoft store, but tried many times to restart the blue screen while "Preparing the device" (Getting my devices Ready).

In addition, many people have encountered the "Unable to update to Windows 8.1, sorry to be unable to complete the update" prompt (0xc1900101-0x40017), and then the system was rolled back to the old version. Obviously, the problem may be related to the driver, but Microsoft has not yet given a fix.
However, Microsoft has also given some suggestions:
First, examine the error code carefully. There are many variants of the 0xc1900101 error code, and each address code is different. If you see a different error address code, these steps may not resolve the user's current problem.
Check that all drivers have been updated. In particular, if you have an NVIDIA GeForce video card, make sure you have the latest Nvidia driver installed.
Ensure that no Sai (SteelSeries) products are installed. SteelSeries engine does not currently support Windows 8.1, please try uninstalling and then update the system.
