Windows 7 tips: how to change the system Display language (Graphic tutorial)

This article applies to Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8.

The Display language is the language used by windows in the Wizard, dialog box, menu, help and support topics and other projects on the user interface. Some display languages are installed by default, and other languages require language files to be installed.

To put it simply, you can change the Display language to a Windows version in another language. For example, if you have installed Windows 7 in English, you can change the Display language to simplified Chinese, and then change the system to Windows 7 in simplified Chinese, the following describes the procedure of taking this example:

Step 1: Install the Simplified Chinese language file

If you have installedLanguage files, Skip this step directly to the second step.

This language file does not exist in the system when you install Windows 7 in the English version by default. At this time, you can normally display Chinese files and webpages, however, the wizard, dialog box, menu, help and support topic, and other projects in the user interface are all in English.

There are two ways to install the Simplified Chinese language file. One way is to download the Language Pack in msdn, which is an ISO disc image. Another method is to introduce Windows Update.

Click Start.Control
Panel(Control Panel), clickSystem and security(System and security), click
Windows Update(Windows Update)

In Windows Update, we can see "*** optional updates are available". The simplified Chinese language file we want to install is in optional updates.The operation you should do is (Your required action is): click the "*** optional updates are available" link.

Then we will see the language packs in many countries and regions:

If you have not installed the Simplified Chinese Language Pack, you should see the Simplified Chinese Language Pack in the list above. Because the Simplified Chinese Language Pack has been installed on my computer, the Chinese Language Pack (Simplified) is not displayed in this list.The operation you should do is (Your required action is): Select Chinese (Simplified) Language Pack, and then click "OK.

Click"Install Updates"Button. Wait patiently until the installation is complete. This process downloads the Language Pack you just selected. The waiting time depends on your network speed.

Step 2: Set region and language options

Click Start.Control
Panel(Control Panel), clickClock, language, and region(Clock, language, and Region), open
Regional and language options(Region and language options ).

InKeyboard and languageOn the (keyboard and language) tabDisplay language(Display language), select "simplified Chinese" from the list, and click "OK.

Step 3: log on to the system again to make the settings take effect.

A dialog box is displayed, saying: You must log off for display language changes to take effect. You must log off to make the display language change take effect.What you need to do is (Your required action is): Click Log off now (logout now.(If the current application is not archived or closed before clicking this button, please archive and close it .)

Next, you will log out of the system. After logging on to the system again, in the user interface, the wizard, dialog box, menu, help and support topic, and other languages used in the project are changed to simplified Chinese. That is to say, at this time youEquivalentHas a Simplified Chinese version of Windows 7.

Tip: During this operation, we can see that the display language settings in windows are for specific users. That is to say, assume that you have several users on this computer. Each user comes from different countries, and each user can have its own display language. Chinese users can set the system Display language to simplified Chinese, japanese users can set the system Display language to Japanese, and Russian users can set the system Display language to Russian without affecting each other.
