Windows 8 does not recognize anti-virus software

Previously, Microsoft mentioned in its official compatibility list that there are only five products in the compatibility list of anti-virus software of Windows 8 Consumer Preview Edition:
1. BullGuard Internet Security
2. F-Secure Internet Security technology preview
3. McAfee Total Protection 5.6 Beta
4. Norton 360 6.0 Beta
5. Trend Micro Titanium 5

However, after the new preview version is released, the corresponding compatibility list also increases. In July 2012, 27 compatibility tests were added, and 190 compatibility tests were performed.

At present, we recommend that you install the security protection software tested by Microsoft for Windows 8. For anti-virus software, you can query the compatibility list according to the following steps.

1, visit the Microsoft official website compatibility list page: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/compatibility/en-US/CompatCenter/Home

2. On the open Program Compatibility query page, find and click "Antivirus" under "Security" in the left-side menu, as shown in the following figure:

 

3. In the result category on the left, click the "Compatible" link at the bottom of the menu to filter out the tested compatibility list. As shown in the following figure:



4. The website will automatically display a compatibility list. Check whether any name of the anti-virus software that is supported is available based on the provided version number. In addition, you can click 64-bit or 32-bit in the upper-right corner of the filtering result to check whether the corresponding system is compatible. As shown in the following figure:

 

 

 

 

5. Although no domestic anti-virus software has been certified yet, the official release and official launch of the Windows 8 system will take some time. At that time, many software will be tested for compatibility, after installation, you can directly support the upgrade through the background without any configuration adjustments or optimizations.

 

 

6. Currently, Windows 8 comes with MSE anti-virus software, which is enabled in the background by default. If third-party antivirus software is installed in the future, it will be automatically disabled without any manual intervention.
