Create a virtual machine template locally and upload it to Azure (2)
In the previous chapter, the author describes how to make a virtual machine in the Chinese version of Windows Server 2012 locally through Hyper-V.
In this chapter I'll start with how to create container in azure storage, and then I'll explain how to use Azure PowerShell to upload a local server VHD to an Azure data center.
1. First we landed in Azure Management Portal. I have created the storage account called Leivms, and then we click Add Container. The following figure:
2. Then in the pop-up new Container window, we set name to UPLOADVM, and the access mode is set to private (or it can be set to public Container). The following figure:
3. After the success of the creation, we will later upload the local server VHD to this BLOB Container by accessing the HTTP://LEIVMS.BLOB.CORE.WINDOWS.NET/UPLOADVM URL. The following figure:
4. The previous work was done in the Azure portal to prepare, and then officially entered the process of uploading the VHD.
5. Please confirm that you have installed the latest Azure SDK, the latest version of the SDK is 2.0, please download in http://www.windowsazure.com/en-us/downloads/, the author downloads the. NET SDK VS2012. When the download is complete, it is installed through the Web installer. The following figure:
