method One: Set up a regular boot

The real-time clock (real time CLOCK,RTC) on the motherboard is responsible for the timing of the system, and we can specify the power-on time via the RTC, just like the alarm clock. However, since this feature is rarely used, some of the motherboards that provide this feature (such as Intel's original motherboard) do not actually boot at the specified time, so the user is best tested before it is formally used.

The specific mode of operation is:

1, after the computer boot according to the information on the screen to press the "Del" key to enter the motherboard BIOS Settings screen, with a regular boot-related settings generally placed in the "Power Management Setup" option.

2, in the BIOS has an "RTC Alarm poweron" option, should be set to "Enabled" (Enable). After that, the user can set the date, hour, minute and second of timing.

3, in order to ensure that the computer accurately realize the function of timing automatically, the user must first check the motherboard BIOS in the system time is the same as the actual time.

4, the last step to remember the motherboard BIOS in the settings to save the changes in the preset time to boot. Some motherboards can also be set to automatically boot from the BIOS at the same time on a daily basis by changing the "RTC Alarm Date" to "Every Day".

However, to remind everyone, if the use of the BIOS automatically boot, the user's Windows operating system can only use one account, otherwise it is not possible to automatically boot and then automatically log on to Windows.

Method Two: Use keyboard/mouse to boot

If the computer case is placed in a difficult position, using the keyboard/mouse to boot is a good solution. Note, however, that this feature only supports keyboards and mice that are connected with the PS/2 interface, but it is not possible to connect using a USB interface. To enable the option of the "Power on by PS/2 keyboard" in the motherboard BIOS, you can select a different boot hotkey, such as Ctrl+e, which is the most common boot hotkey.

or select "Power Key", you can use a separate design on the keyboard on the power-on, but the premise is only part of the keyboard 98 technical specifications of the keyboard to support this feature. Of course, the power button on the chassis is still available. As for using the mouse to boot is also very simple, in the BIOS setup options and keyboard boot settings similar, and then only need to click the mouse button can start the computer.

Method Three: Use the network wake-up boot

To use the wake on LAN (WOL) network wake-up function, you need network card support, and the network card with WOL function has a special signal cable to connect to the WOL interface on the motherboard, responsible for transmitting the power-on signal to the motherboard. However, there are currently few motherboards with WOL interfaces, and manufacturers are instead providing WOL functionality on the motherboard's built-in network chip.

WOL is the principle of the computer in the boot time or S5 sleep mode (Suspend to disk, hibernate to disk), the network card is still very low voltage to maintain basic operation, then other computers on the network can be transmitted through the software a so-called "Magic Packet" Magic packet to wake the computer. After receiving the signal, the NIC will issue the power-on signal to the motherboard to enable the motherboard to start. Because the computer is still in the boot state before the wake-up, so we need to know the MAC address of the network card (each card has its own unique MAC address, the software to identify).

The specific use of the network wake-up function is as follows: First, open the WOL option in the motherboard BIOS. Note Some motherboards only support wake-up from S5 mode (Wake on LAN from S5).

Second, download Wol software from the Internet. This network wake-up software called "Magic Packet" is simple to set up and use. After running, there are only 5 options in its operating interface.

Where: the "(MAC address)" of the network card, the user can enter "Ipconfig/all" instructions in the Windows operating system command line mode to obtain. In addition, the "Internet Address" (Internet addresses) column is the column to be broadcast, in this column and "Subnet Mask" in the column, enter "255, 255, 255, 255" can be broadcast locally (local broadcast). The four column is "Send options", you should select "Local Subnet". The column "Remote Port number" is entered randomly. Note that the above settings are for local networks only. More questions are involved if the Internet is to be awakened, not discussed here. Finally, click the "Wake Me up" button below the interface to wake up the computer from the network.

Method Four: Use the TV card to boot

With the automatic boot function of the TV card has been a large number of the market, the connection is good, the use of TV cards provided by the software set boot time can be.

The automatic boot mode of the TV card can be divided into three kinds of ways roughly: the first one is the product with automatic boot function, the chassis power cord should be connected with the TV card and then transferred; the other is the TV card that uses the dormant mode to boot. The second method, because the computer is not really shut down, that is still consuming electricity, so not all users are willing to adopt. The following is mainly about the first automatic boot method of the specific operation.

1. First, the user should install the computer switch button on the chassis of the lead pin and the TV card "power switch" connection (the author to Kang Bo X800 TV card as an example).

2, then the TV card of another group of "Power Switch" to the motherboard and the electrical connector connection, and finally put the TV card into the motherboard PCI expansion slot, so that the internal connection is completed.

3, the installation of good hardware, TV card supporting software (such as Kang Bo PVR2) also need to be set. Mainly in the "Booking video settings" function, users should be checked "Enable automatic power-on function".

4, if your computer in the Windows operating system more than one user to use, but also set to "Enable automatic Login" mode, and enter the user name and password, you can complete the setup step.
