Windows Server 8 Beta and the previous server operating system comparison, the biggest change is the absence of a Start menu, the Start menu is replaced by Server Manager, in terms of operational experience, the previous server operating system is basically composed of four parts: the beginning, desktop, control Panel, Management tools, with these four parts, basically can complete all the configuration, and Windows Server 8, the less Start menu this part of the basic Server Manager instead, make the operation more convenient and quick.
The expectation for Windows Server 8 Hyper-V has been great, let's take a look at Microsoft's introduction, and then look at my simple toss diagram:
With Windows Server 8 Hyper-V, organizations can deliver fully independent, multi-tenant clouds, support highly scalable and low-cost data centers, and provide the most manageable, scalable, and interoperable platforms for the cloud. Here are some new features and enhancements in Windows Server 8 that support a full virtualization platform and provide the best platform for the cloud:
Multi-tenant, quarantine, and quality of service (QoS)
Hyper-V Network virtualization
When you move to the cloud, you can have your own IP address and be able to isolate it from the virtual machines of other organizations-even if the virtual machines use the same IP address.
The Hyper-V extensible switch provides:
Multi-tenant security and isolation options
Flow control and network traffic management
Built-in security to prevent malicious virtual machines
Quality of service (QoS) bandwidth management to improve the overall performance of the virtual environment.
Resource metering supports detailed and accurate usage billing
By opening the Windows Server 8 beta-Smart Server Manager, we can see that Hyper-V is installed by default and no longer needed to be installed, which is also visible from the Add roles and functionality area.
