Now a lot of compression software, but winrar with its compact, practical win everyone's favorite. However, this software has a lot of practical skills. Using them, we can really do more with less.
1. Make self-extracting file
If you use WinRAR to compress files, and your friends do not use WinRAR, your data must be compressed before you can give it to him. At this point, we can make the RAR compression package into an EXE file. He simply executes the generated EXE file to decompress.
(1) Direct generation method
For example, we want to compress c:\ Explorer data. txt file into exe format file, you can start "explorer", select C:\ Explorer data. txt file, right-click, select winrar→ "Add to Package" command. Then, in the Compress file name and Parameters Settings window, select the check box (Figure 1) Under Compress options to create a self-extracting compressed file. Click the OK button to compress the selected file into a self-extracting file.

2) Conversion method
If we have a RAR compression pack on hand, that can also through WinRAR, convert it to exe file: Start winrar, and then navigate to the RAR Compressed Package folder, select the RAR compression package, and then select the "tool" → "compressed file into the self-extracting format" (Figure 2) or press the ALT x key, You can generate the self-extracting file by clicking the OK button.

We just send the generated EXE file by e-mail to friends, they received, as long as the direct double-click can be compressed in the package of files extracted into the current folder.
Note: If there is damage, cannot self-extracting, that can be changed to the file extension from EXE to RAR, double-click can be used winrar open, and can extract their own.
2. Treat WinRAR as a file Manager
WinRAR is a compression and decompression tool, but it is also a fairly good file manager. As long as we type a folder in its address bar, all the files under it will be displayed, even the extensions of hidden files and files can be seen! We can copy, delete, move, and run these files as well as in the explorer (Figure 3).

3. Repair of damaged compressed files
If you open a compressed package, you find that it has been corrupted. That can start WinRAR, navigate to the Damaged compressed folder, select the file in it, select the "Repair" button on the toolbar (English repair), and then winrar fix the file and pop up the repaired window (Figure 4). We simply choose to repair the ZIP package or RAR compression pack.

4. Automatic shutdown after compression
Start Explorer and select the file. Right-click, select winrar→ the Add to Package command, open the Compress package name and Parameters window, the Advanced tab, and then select the power off computer after completing the Operation check box (Figure 5). This way, after the data is backed up, the machine shuts down automatically.
