The wireless network becomes the first choice solution for the family and the small and medium-sized Enterprise to build the network, because the house basically is the reinforced concrete structure, and the pattern is complex and diverse, the environment to the wireless signal attenuation is serious. Therefore, when using a wireless AP for wireless network coverage, there will be poor signal, data transmission rate is not up to the user's needs, even the problem of blind spot signal. In order to increase the coverage of the wireless network, increase the speed of long-distance wireless transmission, so that the remote can easily and quickly use wireless to surf the internet, so you need to use our wireless router bridge or WDS function.

The figure above shows a small business wireless network, A, B, C three departments if you use only 1 wireless routers (this article takes tl-wr841n V5 for example), some computers may be found to be weak or unable to search for signals, resulting in the inability to connect to the wireless network. The solution is: A, B, c three departments to connect a wireless router, three wireless routers through the WDS connection can achieve the perfect coverage of the entire region, eliminate blind spots.

Configuration idea: Wireless Router B as a central wireless router, wireless router A, C and wireless router B to establish a WDS connection.

The steps are as follows:

Note: The product setting method introduced in this article is applicable to tl-wr841n V5, tl-wr741n, tl-wr742n.

One, center wireless router B setting

Login to the wireless Router B management interface, set the "SSID" and "channel" in the Wireless settings-basic settings, as shown in the figure:

Record the SSID, channel, and encryption settings information after wireless router B is set, which is required for subsequent configuration of wireless router A and C.

Second, wireless router a settings.

1. Modify LAN port IP address. In the network parameter-lan port setting, modifies the IP address and the B router to be different (prevents the IP address conflict), like 192.168.1.2, saves, the router automatically restarts.

2. Enable the WDS feature. Once the reboot is complete, restart wireless router A with the changed LAN port IP address, and check "open WDS" in the Wireless settings-basic settings.

3.WDS settings. Click "Scan" to search around the wireless signal.

Select the B router SSID number in the list of scanned signals, tp-link_841_b in the following figure, and click "Connect".

Sets the channel to be the same as the B router channel.

Set the encryption information the same as the B router, save it.

4. Shut down the DHCP server. At the DHCP server, select Do not enable, save, and restart the router.

Wireless Router A is configured to complete. At this point, wireless router A and wireless router B have successfully established WDS.

Third, wireless router C settings. Step is the same as wireless router A, and you need to be aware that when you modify the LAN port IP address, you can confirm that the modified IP address does not conflict with a device or computer already in the network.

Summarize:

1, the main router is only used to set the channel. Do not open WDS

2, the secondary router to open WDS, turn off the DHCP service.

3, with the secondary router scan the main router.

4, computer terminals with automatic access to IP.
