Wireless Networking makes it easier to connect wireless channels to achieve direct connection between two machines

I believe that the topic of Dual-host direct connection is no stranger to most people! However, with the gradual expansion of wireless networks, it is becoming fashionable to use wireless networks for dual-machine interconnection. However, if we do not have a wireless router, can we not transmit information with another workstation?

Without the support of wireless routers, wireless channels cannot be set up successfully? In many emergency scenarios, we do not carry wireless router devices with us at hand. How can we deal with emergencies when we need direct connection between two machines to share their files and materials? In fact, we can build a wireless "channel" by using the wireless network card that comes with the two workstations to achieve direct connection between two machines.

Set wireless direct connection Parameters

In order to allow the workstations that participate in the dual-host direct connection to "Shake hands" each other, we first need to set the appropriate wireless network parameters for the wireless network card of each workstation. To facilitate the description, suppose we call one workstation a host, and the other workstation a client. When setting wireless direct connection parameters, follow these steps:

Log on to the host system as a system administrator, and click Start, set, and network connection commands on the desktop, on the displayed local network connection list page, right-click the connection icon corresponding to the wireless network adapter and run the "properties" command from the shortcut menu, open the wireless network attribute settings page.

Click the "General" tab on the settings page, select the "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" project on the corresponding tab page, and click the "properties" button under the option, go to the TCP/IP attribute settings page, select the "use the following IP Address" item on the page, assign a static IP address to the host in the IP address text box, and set the subnet mask parameter; for example, the author assumes that the IP address of the host is set to "192.168.0.8" and the subnet mask address is set to "255.255.255.0 ".

Click the "wireless network configuration" tab on the TCP/IP attribute settings page, and click the "advanced" button on the corresponding tab page. In the Advanced Settings dialog box that appears, change the "Network to be accessed" parameter to "computer to computer only", and check whether the "automatically connected to a non-preferred network" project is selected, if it is found that it has not been selected, We must promptly re-select it, and finally click "OK" to end the wireless network parameter setting operation of the host.

Follow the same procedure to open the TCP/IP attribute settings page of the client, select the "use the following IP Address" item on the page, and enter the IP address "192.168.0.18" in the IP address text box ", set the subnet mask address to 255.255.255.0 ".

Configure a wireless direct connection Environment

To prevent some important information from being stolen by other workstations during direct connection through wireless channels, we also need to configure the wireless direct connection environment for security, to ensure that the wireless network can transmit information securely.

Follow the previous steps to go to the "wireless network configuration" tab page of the host, and click the "add" button in the "preferred network" area, click the "join" tab in the pop-up dialog box, and then define an ID name in the "Network Name (SSID)" text box on the "join" tab, for example, I set the host SSID name to "Internal" here ".

On the same settings page, change the "Network Verification" parameter to "open", and change the "Data Encryption" method to "WEP ".

To effectively ensure that wireless channels can transmit data securely, we may wish to cancel the selection of the "automatically provide this key for me" project, then define the appropriate key content in the "Network key" Settings, and click "OK" to return to the "wireless network configuration" tab page, at this point, we will see that there is already a wireless network named "Internal" in "preferred network settings" on this page.

Direct Connection through wireless channels

After completing the above settings, we will return to the client system. At this time, we will see the wireless connection control icon at the system tray area looking for any wireless network signals around, right-click the wireless connection control icon and run the "view available wireless networks" command from the shortcut menu, in the settings window that appears later, we will see a wireless network named "Internal.

For the sake of Data Transmission Security, we have encrypted the WEP for the "Internal" wireless network. Therefore, the client user needs to enter the pre-configured access key in the password verification window, then, click the "Connect" button, and the two workstations will soon be connected wirelessly through a simple wireless channel. At this point, we have successfully built a wireless peer-to-peer transmission channel using the wireless network card of the two workstation, thus achieving dual-host direct wireless connection without a wireless router.

Dual-machine wireless direct connection

1. Clever search for shared resources

In general, once the Internet connection and sharing parameters are successfully set, the two workstations that participate in the dual-host direct connection can easily find the shared resources in their respective hard disks in the "Network neighbors" window.

If the resources shared by the other workstation cannot be found after the two workstations have been directly connected, we may not set the "Internet Connection Sharing" parameter, disconnect the local connection connected to the Internet, and then set the IP addresses of the two workstations to the same subnet. Do not set the gateway parameters.

In this way, after the wireless connection is re-established, the two workstations involved in the dual-host direct connection can easily find the shared resources in their respective hard disks in the "Network neighbors" window.

2. Quickly remove direct connection obstacles

If the client is unable to find the wireless network of the host, check whether the wireless network parameters of the host are encrypted in the host system. If the wireless network is encrypted, we must enter an appropriate key to ensure that the client establishes a wireless connection with the host.

After the encryption factor is excluded, we also need to check the addresses of wireless network cards of the two workstations to see if they are in the same subnet. If not, we must adjust them in time.

If the above method still cannot eliminate the direct connection obstacle, we may try to replace two wireless network card devices of the same model to try again. I believe that the compatibility of wireless network cards of the same brand will be better.
