If the user upgrades the Office2013 on a Office2007 or Office2010 basis, And once the default Word document save format (. doc) is set in Word2007 or Word2010, the compatibility mode Word document is created by default when you create a new document in Word2013. Even if the user sets the default save format for Word2013 to the. docx format, the problem cannot be resolved.
In this case, the user can try to remove the Word2013 default template file to resolve. For example, to delete a template file in a WINDOWS8 system, the following steps are described:
Step 1th, exit the WORD2013 program and open the User Folders window in the WINDOWS8 system (you can usually find the user file icon on the desktop). Click the View button, and in the show/hide area of the View tab, select the Hidden items check box, as shown in Figure 2013041701.

Step 2nd, expand the Appdataroamingmicrosofttemplates folder in the User Folders window, and locate and delete the Normal.dotm file, as shown in Figure 2013041702.

Step 3rd, open the Word2013 file window, Normal.dotm will be created automatically. And the user can notice that the new document no longer displays compatibility mode.
