The cause is as follows: This prompt indicates that the word file is damaged, probably because of virus damage or hard disk damage. You can try the following two solutions:
I. Replacement format
1. Open the damaged document, click the "file/save as" menu, select "RTF format" in the "Save type" list, click "save", and close Word.
2. Open the saved RTF file and use "save as" to save the file as a "word document" again. Now, open the word file and you will find that the file has been recovered.
If the file cannot be restored after being converted to the rtf format, you can convert the file to the plain text format (*. txt) again, and then convert it back to the Word format. Of course, the image and other information will be lost when the file is converted to a txt file.
II. Format resetting
There is a hidden location in Word to save various format information in the document, so you only need to delete the format information to restore the file.
1. After opening the damaged document, click the "tools/options" menu and select the "Edit" tab to deselect the "use smart section to select a range" check box, click the button to repair the file.
2. Select all content beyond the last paragraph, and paste the content to the new word file.
