Yahoo! two regrets: not acquiring Google and missing Facebook

In 2001, Yahoo had the opportunity to acquire Google, but Yahoo did not grasp it. Now, investment firm Needham analyst Mark Mei believes that Yahoo has made the same mistake, that is, it has not acquired Facebook.
Influenced by Google's acquisition of YouTube, in last October, it was reported that Yahoo would acquire Facebook, the second largest social networking website in the United States, for $1 billion, but was rejected by Facebook. In last November, it was reported that Yahoo intends to acquire Facebook for $1.62 billion. But in the end, Yahoo is still empty-handed.
Mark believes that Yahoo's offer is too low. Currently, Facebook has 21 million registered users, of which 93% are active users, and 60% visit the website at least once a day. Facebook's annual page views (PVS) are more than twice Yahoo's expectation.
Yahoo expected that the monthly PV of each Facebook user would be 1061, but in fact it would be 2329. According to industry estimates, Facebook's current market value is about $3.2 billion. Peter Thiel, Facebook's founder, believes that it should be worth $8 billion.
