This tutorial is mainly about using zbrush®3d graphic rendering software to sculpt asymmetric dynamic biological styling. Many people may find it difficult to sculpt, but as a digital sculptor, there should be some modelling works on the attempt to constantly expand their skills, this tutorial will step-by-step to explain the carving process, to break your fear.
1. Zsphere Frame
Z-ball is well controlled and can be carved using Z-ball, because it is better controlled than the ZBrush body model or static modelling model, and is closest to building the clay form framework. Keep the z-Ball Foundation, this time without worrying about the module or the shape of the problem, focus on the interaction between two of organisms, get the feeling and energy-see if they move, make sure it looks less stiff.
2, draw the basic shape sketch
After the basic shape is OK, click the Make Polymesh3d button in the tool menu, turn the z ball into a polygon mesh, this time the mesh has different polygon groupings, may have influence on the subsequent carving, so you can pass ctrl+w (or under Polygroups, Click Auto Groups to merge each sculpture into a polygon group, and finally, Dynamesh to almost 20,000-30,000 polygons, just to build the shape.
3, the construction of biological gross
Now start carving the shape and basic general of the organism, think more about the skeleton structure, at this time you can use move topological, inflate and clay brush. Before using the brush, enter the Stroke menu and click Modifiers to adjust the roll distance to about 3.5, which will smooth the strokes.
4. Develop face
You can separate the head from the body, carve the head first, so you don't have to dynamesh the whole model. For speed, you can open the symmetry first, carving the face will be symmetrical open, to half or three-fourths time to close again, and then transfer the face to the body, this time off symmetry, continue carving, so feel more natural.
5. Continue creating shapes
Continue to improve the model, move the model checking angle: Move the legs, neck and other places that need to be modified, if the polygon is too stretched, you can use Dynamesh frequently, and you can use masking with rotate, move, and scale buttons when moving parts.
6, Contour is the key
With the Claytubes brush combined with the standard brush (change roll distance and close lazymouse), this step does not need to be too concerned with the details, focusing on the overall shape. Why is the outline important? Because it is the first thing you see when you look at the model, and as the carving progresses, the overall shape becomes more and more important.
