1. Update the Fedora 23 package
Even if you have just installed/upgraded Fedora 23, there may still be packages to be updated. After all, ora always uses the latest version of each of its own software, and the release of the new version of the package is quite frequent.
To run updates, run the following command:

Update Fedora 23
2. Set the host name in Fedora 23
We will use the hostnamectl command to query and set the system Host Name and related settings. This tool can be used to manage three different host name categories: static, pretty, and transient.
The static host name is a common host name, which can be selected by the System user and saved in the/etc/hostname file.
Here, we will not talk too much about the pretty and transient host name categories; our main goal is to set the system host name, so ......
Use the following command to list the current host name.
- # Hostnamectl status
Sample output result
- Static hostname: www.tecmint.com
- Icon name: computer-vm
- Chassis: vm
- Machine ID: 458842014b6c41f9b4aadcc8db4a2f4f
- Boot ID: 7ac08b56d02a4cb4a5c5b3fdd30a12e0
- Virtualization: kvm
- Operating System: Fedora 23 (Workstation Edition)
- Cpe OS Name: cpe:/o: fedoraproject: fedora: 23
- Kernel: Linux 4.2.0-300. fc23.x86 _ 64
- Architecture: x86-64
Now, change the Hostname:

- # Vi/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-enp0s3
Sample output result
- HWADDR = 08: 00: 27: 33: 01: 2D
- TYPE = Ethernet
- BOOTPROTO = dhcp
- DEFROUTE = yes
- PEERDNS = yes
- PEERROUTES = yes
- 20174_failure_fatal = no

- 20176_failure_fatal = no
- NAME = enp0s3
- UUID = 1930cdde-4ff4-4543-baef-036e25d021ef
- ONBOOT = yes
Change and save the file as recommended below.
- BOOTPROTO = "static"
- ONBOOT = "yes"

- NETMASK = 255.255.255.0
- GATEWAY = 192.168.0.1
- DNS1 = 202.88.131.90
- DNS2 = 202.88.131.89
Important: Replace the network configuration in the above file with your own network settings.
After the above changes, it is necessary to restart the network service to make the new changes take effect, and verify the IP address and network settings with the following commands.
