Use the standard Windows registry settings that you created when you installed Microsoft Access. This replaces the/ini option used to specify the initial file in the version of Microsoft access earlier than Access 97.
Access database or Access project
/compact target database or target Access project
Compress and repair the Access database, and then close Microsoft access, as specified earlier in the Access database or compression/compact option. If you omit the target file name after the/compact option, the file is compressed to the original name and folder. If you want to compress to a different name, specify the destination file. If you do not include a path in target database or target Access project, the destination file is created by default in the My Documents folder.
In an Access project, this option compresses an Access project (. adp) file, but does not compress the Microsoft SQL Server database.
Access database or Access project
/repair
Fix the Access database specified earlier in the/repair option, and then close Microsoft access.
In Microsoft Access 2000, the/repair option includes the compression and repair features. The/repair option supports backward compatibility.
