Enable FTP server on Windows7

to share files with others, you can create an FTP server, but configuring a full FTP server is complex and can use the FTP service that comes with Windows, which by default is turned off by Windows-brought web and FTP services. Different versions of the system on which FTP is enabled may not operate on a different interface, but are generally similar. To improve the security of your computer, you can create a new user group and user that is dedicated to FTP operations, allowing only the new user to log on to FTP and not log on to the computer through that user.

Turn on the FTP service feature

Go to Programs, Control Panel, turn Windows features on or off, and find the Internet Information Services option

Check the Internet Information Services option to make sure that the computer starts to start the service and needs to wait a while. The FTP server is turned on, and all services under IIS management Console and World Wide Web services (the service may need to restart the computer to take effect)

Add an FTP site

2. Right-click on "Computer" and click "Manage"

4. Click "Services and Applications", "Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager", right click on "Web Site", click "Add FTP Site"

6. Add a site name and select the FTP site root physical path

8. IP Address Select the native IP, the port can be set by itself (in order to secure the best not to use the default port); SSL Select "Allow", then next

10. Authentication Select "Basic", authorized to select "All Users" (that is, all the existing active accounts of this computer can be logged in), the permissions set "read" (that is, you can only download files from FTP, you can not upload files, you want to set upload permissions to choose "Write"), click "Done".

12. In the admin console you can see the newly generated FTP site under the Web site, click on the site to see information about the site, you may need to enable FTP to restart the computer.
