When you use MySQL Workbench to manage and update databases today, the following error message is displayed when you execute an update statement:

After some searches, we found that it was the security settings of MySQL Workbench. This error is prompted when the SQL statement to be executed is updated or deleted in batches.

The solution is as follows:

1. Open Workbench menu [Edit]-> [Preferences...]
2. Switch to the [SQL Editor] Page
3. Remove the check box before [Forbid UPDATE and DELETE statements without a WHERE clause (safe updates )]
4. Click [OK ].
5. Remember to restart Workbench in the last step. Otherwise, you will still receive the error message.
