For more information, see the following section. IBM's server product line is comprehensive, from entry-level servers to large servers. Because there are a lot of products, there are also a variety of product series classification standards. The following is a general analysis of the IBM series product classification standards.

The IBM eServer family currently has four product lines: iSeries, pSeries, xSeries, and zSeries ). These four series basically include Server products of all levels from entry-level to enterprise-level, and basically include Tower, Rack, blade, and cabinet types in structure. The following describes the positioning of these four series products.

Pseries: pseries servers run AIX (IBM Unix) and Linux, with a wide range of products, including p690 with 32-path processors (as shown in the left figure ), there are also mid-range and entry-level products p610 (1 shown on the right ). Pseries is the foundation of the IBM Unix server product line. The pseries is based on IBM's Power processor and has the widest Unix product line, from an extremely small 1-or 2-way entry-level server system to up to 32-way mainframe systems. In terms of structure, it can be either a rack or a cabinet. Its Unix product line has unique advantages in scalability. Currently, the mainstream pseries products are p630 and p650 models.
X Series: This is an Intel-Based Server series of IBM. This product line of IBM is very rich, including all levels of server products from entry level to enterprise level. In terms of server structure, there are both traditional tower and new rack and blade types, there are also enterprise-level cabinets. The x series product line is available with Intel Xeon processors, rather than the weak p iii, and integrates Fiber Channel and layer-4 to layer-4th switching capabilities, therefore, the performance of such servers is generally relatively high. There are also telecommunications servers dedicated for the telecom industry.

Among the series of server products, x205 sub-series have the cheapest performance, but they have reached P4 2.4GHz and above which support MHz bus, 2 The figure on the left shows the x205 sub-series 8480IHC server. It only costs 5888 RMB, which is equivalent to the price of a Medium-end CP server. At present, the highest performance is x445, which can support up to 32 2.8 GHz Intel Xeon MP processors or 3.0 GHz Intel Xeon processors, as shown in the figure 2 on the right. More importantly, it adopts the latest second generation IBM enterprise X-architecture technology for mainframes. Fully supports innovative technologies such as Active PCI-X, hot swapping memory, Chipkill memory, optical path diagnosis, and predictive failure analysis, as well as XpandOnDemand (On-Demand scaling) technology.
Series I: this series of servers is intended for intermediate market customers, such as a department of an enterprise. Customers in this market are most concerned about the ease and reliability of management. I Series servers are generally mid-range products. The most popular trend in its customer base is to merge or integrate a large number of small servers into a smaller number of I series products. For example, if you create a primary database on an I series server, the Web Front-end uses an independent Windows or Intel Server, and a file and print server.

Currently, I Series servers mainly include five sub-Series: i800, i810, i825, i870, and i890. They are generally high-end servers. Currently, they support up to 32-path processor systems, i890 (as shown in Figure 3 on the left ). It uses IBM mainframe technology and Power 4 microprocessor. It has almost twice the i840 capacity of the original iSeries top-level product, and is equipped with the latest operating system-OS/400 V5R2.
Z series: This is the pillar product of IBM. They are all mainframe products and of course all of them are cabinet-based products. This type of product is intended for medium and large enterprises that cannot tolerate downtime, including large banks, brokerage companies, telecom service providers, and enterprises that have complex operations with large databases. Currently, four sub-series products are available in China, including S390, Z800, Z900, and Z990. The Z800 series are widely used in the market, as shown in the right figure. The IBMz Series 800 (z800) is a small z series server (so-called \ "BabyzSeries \"). The z800 architecture is designed for 64-bit operation and provides the required infrastructure for e-commerce. 64-bit storage significantly reduces the memory paging overhead and truly relieves storage restrictions.

There are more than 10 z800 models. Nine of them are general-purpose models. There are four full-capacity engine models and four sub-capacity engine models. In addition, there is a 0LF type that only runs Linux. It only consists of an integrated Linux tool (IFL) engine. 0LF is a Linux model used in z series. Another model is CouplingFacility0CF (coupled with 0CF). All the engines are dedicated pair engines. 4-z800004 can be upgraded to 4-way z900104.
