2. Install the CD. Start your computer with an XP installation disc that can be started with a CD, and then start the installation. Compared with the preparation work, the installation is much easier. After a lot of familiar pictures, XP installation is complete.

3. Drive after installing the systemProgramInstallation is still a bit exquisite. The first installation should be the SATA hard drive, or you will have to run in compatible mode all the time. It is a pity that the SATA transmission speed is reached. First, find the matrix storage.exe file in the "t60/X60 driver and software" directory on the Restoration disc. Double-click the file and unzip it to the C: \ drivers \ win \ imsm directory, then run install in c: \ drivers \ win \ imsm \ prepare. after the BAT file is complete, restart the system and change the SATA mode back to ahci In the BIOS. after entering the system, the system will prompt you to find the IDE controller. When the driver is installed, it will point to C: \ drivers \ win \ imsm.

4. install other drivers and software.

1. chipset driver. Run the "t60/X60 driver" and "cmdintelchip driver .exe" file in the software development directory on the recovery disc. It will be decompressed to the C: \ drivers \ win \ intelinf directory. Run “setup.exe in this directory to install it.

Ii. graphics card driver. Install Microsoft.. NET Framework 2.0, run the "t60/X60 graphics card driver .exe" file in the "t60/X60 driver and software" directory on the recovery disc, and it will be decompressed to C: \ drivers \ win \ video directory. Run “setup.exe in this directory to install it.

Iii. Power Management driver. Run the "t60/X60 driver and the ibmpower management .exe" file in the software development directory on the recovery disc. It will be decompressed to the C: \ drivers \ win \ ibmpm directory. Run “setup.exe in this directory to install it.

4. Security Chip driver. Run the "t60/X60 driver" and the security chip .exe in the software development directory on the recovery disc. It will be decompressed to the C: \ drivers \ win \ TPM directory. Run “setup.exe in this directory to install it.

V. HD bus driver. Install the sound card. Install the XP patch-kb888111 before the modem. The second difficulty of driver installation is the HD bus, which is a high-end thing on t60/X60 and a high-definition Audio bus. 6. Sound Card and modem driver. Run the "t60/X60 driver and audio card driver. exefile and audio modemdriver. .exe" file in the software development directory on the recovery disc. It will be decompressed to the C: \ drivers \ win \ audio directory. Run “setup.exe in this directory to install it. Unzip the modem driver to the C: \ drivers \ hdamodem directory.

Note: Key Points for installing Windows 2003:
