IIS 7.5 Express makes Web Application Development simple and smooth

1. Introduction

When reading MVC3 today, I accidentally saw IIS 7.5 express (I saw a test version before). So I decided to try this web server tool that is more powerful than the VS built-in server (Cassini, official Instructions are as follows:

IIS 7.5 Express provides powerful functions of IIS 7.5 and lightweight Web servers (such as ASP. NET Development Server, also known as "Cassini"), can enhance the ability to develop and test Web applications on Windows. Microsoft WebMatrix contains IIS 7.5 Express. This integrated tool makes Web application development on Windows simple and smooth. IIS 7.5 Express can also be used with Visual Studio 2010, which is powerful enough to replace Cassini. Benefits of using IIS 7.5 Express include:

· The same Web server running on the production server can now be used on the development computer.

· You can complete most tasks without the administrator privilege.

· IIS 7.5 Express runs on Windows XP and all later versions of Windows.

· Multiple users can work independently on the same computer.

3. Run

In the installation directory, start IIS to run it.

Enter a URL to access the default webpage

When requesting a website on IIS, the console instantly displays the request details

The following icon appears in the lower right corner after startup:

Right-click IIS Express and select [show all applications], as shown below:

4. Summary

IIS Express makes building, development, and testing easier. IIS express supports all Asp.net versions, regardless of the Asp.net web form program or Asp.net MVC program. You can choose to use it in projects.
