Easy Image X (Eix) is an image management tool that supports ghost images (. gho) and ImageX images (. wim), with a friendly graphical interface that takes just a few simple steps to complete the image backup and recovery effort. The most used maintenance is the image recovery and backup feature. The following is a description of how easy Image x is used.

(i) Image recovery
<ignore_js_op>

1, quick operation: (two click, a return car)
(1) "Select Image" Click to select the image in the image list on the left (ImageX image select the child image name, Ghost image selected image file);
(2) "Set Partition" click to select the partition in the right drive partition list (the system image reverts to the primary partition with the active attribute);
(3) "Point to enter" click the keyboard enter, the image recovery work is about to begin execution.
2. Image-Related:
(1) The image Backup feature supports ImageX images (. wim) and Ghost images (. Gho), and the program automatically determines the type of image;
(2) When the program starts, all ImageX images and ghost images are automatically searched for all partitions within the two tiers of the directory;
(3) The automatic search feature in the previous bar ignores images less than 100MB, but can be added manually to add images to the image list;
(4) The ImageX image typically contains multiple sub-images, and it is important to select the child images when restoring such images;
(5) The ImageX image has the function of "checking image integrity", which is the "/check" parameter, which slows down the image recovery speed;
(6) ImageX image has the function of "Verifying file correctness", that is, "/verify" parameter, the checksum slows the image recovery speed;
(7) The backup operation cannot be performed on the current system partition.
3, partition Related:
(1) The program will read the partition recognized by the system, if the system does not recognize the partition, the program will not be recognized;
(2) The active partition will be displayed in red;
(3) Drive number, partition number, partition letter, under the PE may be different from the system, it is important to carefully observe the target partition selected.
4, Guide Related:
(1) When the system image is restored, the program will attempt to fix possible system boot issues;
(2) The combination of the normal boot system is "BIOS (UEFI Legacy) +mbr" or "uefi+gpt";
(3) when "BIOS (UEFI Legacy) +mbr" mode:
· The MBR is set automatically based on the system type (NT5/NT6) on the hard disk where the boot partition is located and the boot partition is set to PBR;
· If the target system is NT6 and the boot file does not exist within the boot partition, it will automatically attempt to rebuild the boot file;
· Even if the NT6 default "boot partition (100MB) and system partition separation" situation, the program can still identify and set the boot;
· In addition to the correct MBR and PBR, the boot partition must also be in the "active partition" state, if not set, manually set;
(4) when "UEFI+GPT" mode:
· partition, the ESP partition (typically around 100MB fat/fat32 partition) must be divided to boot normally;
· When the NT6 system image is restored to the system partition, it will automatically attempt to rebuild the boot file within the ESP partition;
· Make sure that the restored system does support this mode, otherwise no boot can be started;
(5) The program can not help you solve all the guidance problems, more problems need to be flexibly judged and resolved according to the actual situation.
5. Formatting Related:
(1) Ghost image is a sector-based image, and the ghost image is restored in exactly the same format as the partition in the ghost image;
(2) ImageX image is a file-based image that can determine the partition format of the target partition before restoring the image;
(3) images backed up with ImageX in NTFS format can be restored to NTFS or FAT32 formatted disk partitions, but NTFS partition format is recommended;
(4) The automatic Format function needs%windir%\system32\format.com support, if not, the automatic format cannot be completed;
(5) More formatting requirements Select the "Manual format" option in the partition format, or use a third-party tool to complete.
6, password-Related:
(1) Ghost image supports encryption, and ImageX image is not supported;
(2) When the ghost image is restored, an input box for entering the password will appear automatically.
(ii) Image backup

1. Quick operation: (two hits, one input, one return car)
(1) "Select Partition" click to select the partition in the left drive partition list;
(2) "Set image" Click to select the image in the right image list or click the "image File" button to the right to set the image save location;
(3) "Write a name" to the image to write a memorable name; (Chinese is not recommended)
(4) "Point to enter" click the keyboard enter, the image backup work is about to begin execution.
2, partition Related:
(1) The program will read the partition recognized by the system, if the system does not recognize the partition, the program will not be recognized;
(2) The active partition will be displayed in red;
(3) Drive number, partition number, partition letter, under the PE may be different from the system, it is important to carefully observe the target partition selected.
3. Image-Related:
(1) The image Backup feature supports ImageX images (. wim) and Ghost images (. Gho), and the program automatically determines the image type based on the suffix name;
(2) ImageX image supports multiple sub-images in one image, ghost images do not support this feature;
(3) in the same ImageX image, if multiple sub-images contain the same file, then the same file occupies only one file size;
(4) When using ImageX to back up an image, if the target image does not exist, the capture mode is automatically enabled, that is, the newly created image;
(5) When using ImageX to back up an image, if the target image already exists, the additional mode is automatically enabled, that is, the child image is created in the target image;
(6) The ImageX image has the function of "checking image integrity", which is the "/check" parameter, and the check slows down the image backup speed;
(7) ImageX image has the function of "Verifying file correctness", that is, "/verify" parameter, the checksum slows the image backup speed;
(8) The backup operation cannot be performed on the current system partition.
4, compression Related:
(1) ImageX has limit compression (maximum), fast compression (quick), and no compression of three classes;
(2) Ghost has limit compression (Z9), high compression (Z6), fast compression (Z2) and does not compress four levels;
(3) The higher the compression rate, the smaller the image volume, but the longer the backup and recovery time;
(4) in ImageX, the sub-image compression rate is the same as the first image compression rate, and the set compression rate is invalid.
5. Image description:
(1) The image description is used to distinguish between different sub-images in the ImageX image;
(2) Do not recommend the use of Chinese description, the individual time may be garbled, the reason is not clear.
6, password-Related:
(1) Ghost image supports password encryption, and ImageX image is not supported;
(2) When the ghost image is saved, an input box for entering the password will appear automatically.
(iii) Advanced features
<ignore_js_op>

1. ImageX directory backup:
(1) In addition to the partition backup function, ImageX supports the directory (folder) backup function;
(2) The directory backup function is identical to the partition backup function, except that the target is changed from partition to directory;
(3) If the target image does not exist, the capture mode is automatically enabled, that is, the newly created image;
(4) If the target image already exists, the "Attach mode" is automatically enabled, that is, the child image is created in the target image;
(5) By default, limit compression (maximum) mode;
(6) "Check image integrity" function, that is, "/check" parameter, the check will slow down the image backup speed;
(7) "Verify file correctness" function, that is, "/verify" parameter, calibration will slow down the image backup speed;
(8) "Bootable" function, that is, "/boot" parameter, so that the image has a bootable property, generally used for the WinPE image;
(9) Add the previous one, a ImageX image only allows a child image with a bootable property.
2. ImageX directory restore:
(1) In addition to partition restore function, ImageX supports directory (folder) restore function;
(2) The directory Restore function is identical to the partition restore function, except that the target changes from partition to directory;
(3) "Check image integrity" function, that is, "/check" parameter, the check will slow the image recovery speed;
(4) "Verify file correctness" function, that is, "/verify" parameter, calibration will slow down the image recovery speed;
(5) directory restore does not empty files in the target directory.
3. Split the WIM Image:
(1) A larger. wim image can be divided into several smaller images at the specified size;
(2) The suffix of the segmented image is named ". SWM";
(3) If the partition image is set to the name: TEST.SWM, then the other partition image is named: test2.swm, Test3.swm 、......、 testn.swm;
(4) The image split unit can be either M (MB) or G (GB).
4, program file customization:
(1) This procedure with the help of ImageX.exe, Ghost.exe and Bootice.exe three programs to complete all recovery and backup operations;
(2) The program comes with ImageX.exe, the version is: 6.2;
(3) The program comes with Ghost32.exe, the version is: 11.51;
(4) The program comes with Bootice.exe, the version is: 1.1.1;
(5) If necessary, these program files can be customized, but due to the customization of all the problems, the developer of this program and the Forum has no obligation to explain.
5. imagex parameter setting
(1) configuration file (in-Program global effect), custom ImageX configuration file, configuration file as described in the Windows AIK Help documentation;
(2) temporary directory (Global in-Program) to customize the temporary file directory of ImageX.
(iv) Help documentation
