By now we have completed the installation of the tool, the following official installation theme

————————————————————————————————————————————————————

1. Install the GTK theme

Go to this link: https://www.opendesktop.org/s/Gnome/p/1171688/

There are several tags on the page: Prodect, FIles, changelogs, etc.

Locate the Files tab to download the file. Click on the file name to download it.

You can see here a total of 6 compressed files, respectively, packaging a variety of topics. Through the file name can find each file has a "2", this 2 means that the compression package has two topics.

Just pick one, like Gnome-osc-hs--2themes.tar.xz (the first file) and download it.

Decompression via XZ and tar commands

xz-d Gnome-osc-hs--2-themes.tar.xztar XVF Gnome-osc-hs--2-themes.tar.xz

There are two folders in the folder that were extracted

The two folders are two themes, moving the two folders to/usr/share/themes.

Then open the previously installed tool tweaks (Chinese is called "optimization"), in the "Application" English is "applications" this option, you can choose the theme just installed. These are the ones I installed after the theme.

Just two folders, is two themes, these two themes from the name of the only transparent in front of a not, as the name implies there is no transparency effect.

Now that the appearance style has been modified, the maximized minimized style is already very apple.

2. Modify the icon

Go to the link below to download

https://www.opendesktop.org/s/Gnome/p/1102582/

After extracting the files, put them in the/usr/share/icons directory, as shown in (this is a theme already applied):

Then go to the tweaks and apply it.

3. Modify the Desktop shell

Go to this link: https://www.opendesktop.org/s/Gnome/p/1013741/

Download the red box below

Under Application

2018-05-09 Update

About Plymouth Theme, boot animation.

--------------------

As shown, the/etc/alternatives/default.plymouth file specifies a logo folder that specifies an execution script. The logo and script specified in this file are executed at boot time.

So the idea is that you can modify the boot animation by assigning the Logo folder and script to something else.

Boot animation theme not found good, try this bar:

Download the following zip package, after decompression:

MV The extracted files to the/usr/share/plymouth/themes/directory

Then go to modify the next/etc/alternatives/default.plymouth (backup source files first) as follows

The actual diagram is similar, but the middle of the logo will be rotated (mobile phone recording is not good to see the GIF)

2018-05-10 Update

GDM (GNOME Display MANAGER,GDM) theme, which is the theme of the login interface

--------------------

Selected a theme https://www.opendesktop.org/s/Gnome/p/1207015/, as follows

Unpack the Tarball

There are three files under this folder

The principle of modifying the login interface style is described first:

The important step is in the CSS file, the/USR/SHARE/GNOME-SHELL/THEME/UBUNTU.CSS is configured with the login interface style.

In the/usr/share/gnome-shell/theme/ubuntu.css file (the package I downloaded above, the CSS file that is not in the system itself) has such a line of code:

Yes, the login interface of Ubuntu18.04 is rendered with CSS files, the front end of the web should be the most familiar.

If you just want to replace the background of the login screen, you can change the location of the image file in the CSS file that you brought with the system to the absolute directory of your own image.

Of course, if you want to make your login screen cool Some, modify the CSS file, rendering the effect you want.

Or if you want to save the hassle, just like me to download CSS files that others have written.

In my download, there is also a script file that reads as follows:

There is a comment, the role of this script is that you are now using the wallpaper blur, and then put to ~/pictures/gdm_look.jpg, after executing the script, your ~/pictures directory will be one more gdm_ Look.jpg file, this file is the blurred image of the wallpaper you are currently using.

Then the ~/pictures/gdm_look.jpg is copied to the/usr/share/backgrounds/directory, and then the following figure

The CSS file provided in this package specifies the login page wallpaper, that is, after the script finishes processing the CP to/usr/share/backgrounds/gdm_look.jpg.

At this point, the principle is clear, the operation is as follows:

Backup/usr/share/gnome-shell/theme/ubuntu.css

sudo cp/usr/share/gnome-shell/theme/ubuntu.css/usr/share/gnome-shell/theme/ubuntu.css.backup

Replace the system's own/usr/share/gnome-shell/theme/ubuntu.css with the UBUNTU.CSS

Copy the Setaswallpaper script file to the ~/.local/share/nautilus/scripts/directory and modify the permissions (if necessary)

sudo chmod +x setaswallpaper

Then restart Nautilus (the following command is off)

Nautilus-q

Click "All Apps" in the bottom right corner of the desktop to find "Nautilus"

Execute the following command to modify permissions for the next/usr/share/backgrounds

sudo chmod 777/usr/share/backgrounds/

In the final step, go to the ~/.local/share/nautilus/scripts/directory to execute the next Setaswallpaper script.

Reboot the system just fine. (After executing the script, your desktop wallpaper may be gone, reset it.)

Finally, put a picture:

2018-05-12 Update

Topbar

--------------------

The Gnome-shell theme I used is that its topbar is such that the font is slightly thicker and very wide and takes up too much space.

The modified look looks so obvious.

The following formally began to modify, because I am using the sierra-compact-light theme, so to go to this topic below the configuration file (actually a CSS file) modification, is the following directory

/usr/share/themes/sierra-compact-light/gnome-shell/gnome-shell.css

If you want to modify Ubuntu default Topbar is not the above directory and should be the Ubuntu default shell directory, may be modified in the following several files, because I have not tried, so I am not sure which file is specific.

Back to the/usr/share/themes/sierra-compact-light/gnome-shell/gnome-shell.css file, which is my theme file, ctrl+f find #panel

Modify Topbar Height

Bold font changed to normal font

Save the reboot just fine.

2018-05-19 Update

Dash to Dock

--------------------

Open Ubuntu software and directly search the dash to dock for installation.

Open tweaks-Extensions, note that the dash to dock extension is not opened here, modify the style directly by clicking the Gear button just fine, I try to open, but the lock screen before entering the desktop will be a bug.

My settings are as follows

Effect:

The advantage over Docky is that the dock of the system is directly modified, and Docky is added directly to the dock and the system comes with a dock that cannot be removed, but the docky has MacOS magnification.
