Uname: displays information about the computer and operating system.

Syntax

Uname [-amnclr] [-- help] [-- version]

Parameter description:

  • -A or -- all displays all information.
  • -M or -- machine displays the computer type.
  • -N or-nodename indicates the host name displayed on the network.
  • -R or -- release displays the release number of the operating system.
  • -S or -- sysname: displays the operating system name.
  • -V: displays the version of the operating system.
  • -- Help: displays help.
  • -- Version: displays the version information.
