Location. Hash & location. href

Hash: sets or obtains the segments following the # In the href attribute.

Href: set or obtain the entire URL as a string.

Through the following test, you will find the difference, put the code in your HTML, and then open it in a browser. Test procedure:

1. Click "HYPERLINK" and you will find that the URL in the address bar has changed. There is an additional "# foo" after the URL ".

2. Click "href" and you will find the URL in the address bar popped up.

3. Click "hash" and you will find the pop-up is # Foo.
