Brief introduction

This article details the installation process for a complete Microsoft SQL Server 2008 on the Windows 7 operating system. Note: Microsoft SQL Server 2008 has some compatibility issues with the Windows 7 operating system, and you will need to install SP1 patches for Microsoft SQL Server 2008 after you complete the installation. The entire installation process is described in detail below.

Installation log

After starting Microsoft SQL 2008 Setup in the Windows7 operating system, the System Compatibility Assistant prompts the software for compatibility issues and must install the SP1 patch to run after the installation is complete, as shown in Figure 1-1. Here, select Run program to start the installation of SQL Server 2008.

After entering the SQL Server Installation Center, skip the "schedule" content and directly select "Install" in the list on the left side of the interface, as shown in Figure 1-2, and go to the installation list selection.

As shown in Figure 1-3, enter the SQL Server installation center-after the installation interface, the list on the right shows different installation options. This article describes the entire installation process as an example of a new installation, so select the first installation option, "New SQL Server standalone installation or existing installation Add feature."

After you select a new installation, the System Program Compatibility Assistant prompts you again for compatibility issues, as shown in Figure 1-4. Select Run program to continue the installation.

After you go to the Installer Support Rules installation interface, the installer will automatically detect the basic support for the installation environment, and you will need to ensure that all conditions are passed before you can install the following, as shown in Figure 1-5. When all the tests have been completed, click "OK" to install the following.

Next is the SQL Server2008 version selection and key filling, this article describes the installation process with "Enterprise evaluation" as an example, and the key can be purchased from Microsoft Official, as shown in Figure 1-6.

In the license Terms interface, you need to accept the Microsoft Software License terms to install SQL Server2008, as shown in Figure 1-7.

The next step is to install the Support Inspector, as shown in Figure 1-8, and click "Install" to continue the installation.

As shown in Figure 1-9, the following installation cannot continue until all detections have been passed. If an error occurs, you need to correct all failures before you install.

After the "Installer support rules" prosecution, go to the "Feature Selection" interface, as shown in Figure 1-10. Here, select the SQL Server features you want to install, and the installation path. Recommendation: Because data and operation log files can be extremely large, choose the installation path carefully, or select a proprietary save path when you build the database.

As shown in Figure 1-11, the next step is "instance configuration," where the default ID and path are selected.

As shown in Figure 1-13, in the server configuration, you need to specify a legitimate account for the various services. The next step is authentication at the time of database logon, where you need to specify an administrator for SQL Server, as an example of the system administrator, as shown in Figure 1-14. Select the default mode in the report service configuration, and the user can choose according to the requirements, as shown in Figure 1-16.

Finally, according to the functional configuration selection of the environmental inspection again, as shown in Figure 1-18.

After the inspection, the software will list all the configuration information and confirm the installation last time, as shown in Figure 1-19. Click "Install" to start the SQL Server installation.

Depending on the hardware environment, the installation process can last for 10-30 minutes, as shown in Figure 1-20.
