Minimal installation of centos 6.6

Installation environment:

• Virtual Machine: VMware 11.1.0

• System: Centos 6.6X86 (32-bit) System Image File

1. Create a virtual machine and load the system image file.

2. Read system image at startup

   There are five options, from top to bottom:

   ① Install or upgrade the existing system.

   ② Install a system with a basic display device.

   ③ Rescue mode.

   ④ Start from the local drive.

   ⑤ Memory test.

   Because the system in text mode is to be installed this time, you can select either the first option or the second option here. You can select the option based on your requirements. If you want to include a graphic, you can select the second item.

3. Check whether the disk image file is checked. The default value is 'OK'. Select 'skip' here. Skip the check and press Enter.

4. CentOS6 series LOGO, next step.

5. Select the system language. The default value is "English". Select "Chinese" here. Next step.

6. Select the keyboard layout. The default format is American English. Next step.

7. Install the system storage type, whether it is basic storage or the specified storage. Select basic storage here and next.

8. Whether to ignore data. Select Yes. If it is a production environment, pay attention to data backup.

9. Define the host name, which is equivalent to the computer name in Windows. You can configure the network here, because we will skip the custom configuration next to it and go directly to the next step.

10. Select the time zone, select Shanghai, and click Next.

11. Enter the root password, which is the administrator password. Next step.

12. Install the system in that type. Each item has instructions. If you want to know about it, perform an experiment. Here, select Custom, manually install partitions, And next step.

13. Enter the custom partition, and prompt that the hard disk will be initialized. Select to write the modification to the disk,

14. Go to the partition page to start partitioning. Click Create and select standard partition.

15. create the '/boot' partition and select ext4 as the type. The default size is 200 MB. In fact, 50 MB is enough, but the hard disk capacity is large now. It doesn't matter if you divide it into 1 GB, after dividing the capacity, click OK

16. create a 'SWAp 'partition. The swap partition is selected by the file system type. The size is set to twice the physical memory, and the general server memory in the production environment is very large, it is usually dozens of GB and hundreds of JB. If the physical memory is allocated by two times, it is not very large and terrible. Therefore, there is a rule:

① The memory is smaller than 8 GB, And the swap partition capacity is allocated based on 2 times the memory size;

② The memory size is above 8 GB, And the swap partition capacity is unified to 16 GB

17. Create a '/' partition. Select all available space for the capacity. The production environment should be allocated as required.

18. The partition is complete. Next Step

19. Start formatting. A warning is displayed. Select format to enter formatting.

20. After formatting is completed, start to install the boot program. The default value is next.

21. Here we will start to install the program. You can choose to install the program as needed. Here I will select minimal to minimize installation. Next, we will start to install the program.

22. Start to install the software package. The more software packages, the longer the installation time.

23. Congratulations! Installation is complete. Go to restart and select reboot.

24. There is no graphical interface because the installation is minimized.
