The client makes a request , and if it is a dynamic script, Apache will let PHP handle it, and PHP calls the database according to the business logic. 2. The database finally returns the results to PHP, PHP (which may also handle HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and return these results to Apache. 3. Finally the Apache server returns the processed HTML, CSS, and JavaScript back to the client (browser), which is interpreted by the browser based on the returned code .
